Olivia by Ian Falconer

A day in the life of an active little pig!  Olivia is a high energy girl who has fun dressing up, singing songs, building sand castles, dancing, painting on walls (oh no!), taking a nice bath, reading stories and finally heading to bed.  Whew!  I am as exhausted as her mother, just reading this.

Visual Element - Color

The book that exemplifies the visual element of color is Olivia by Ian Falconer.  Mr. Falconer only uses only black and red (and shades of those 2 colors) to create his illustrations.  The red really draws you to where he wants to emphasize your attention.
