This non-fiction, historic book tells the story of 12 young people during their time in the Hitler Youth. The author uses oral histories, diaries, letters and did her own very exhaustive research to find out more about the lives of these young teenagers during this tragic time in history. Along with actual photographs from the time she was able to piece together a horrific scene in our history and tell it so realistically that you felt scared for your own life in many parts of the book. A time in our history I hope we never repeat.
